ORDER :
The lands belonging to the petitioners are acquired for the purpose of irrigation project i.e. Bheema Project in Mahabubnagar District. After payment of compensation pursuant to the award passed by the Land Acquisition Officer, matters were referred under Section 18 of the Land Acquisition Act, in O.P.Nos.348 of 1999 and batch, 13 OPs. in total, on the file of Senior Civil Judge, Gadwal, Mahabubnagar District.
In this writ petition, the limited grievance of petitioners is that even after passing of judgment and decree in the aforesaid batch of cases, respondents are not depositing the compensation amount.
The Principal Secretary to the Government, Irrigation and Command Area Development, has filed counter affidavit. While admitting that such batch of cases are disposed of, it is stated in the counter that time is required to deposit the amount as awarded by the civil Court in the batch of O.Ps. It is stated that the entire
amount will be paid as ordered by the civil Court within a period of five months from today.
In view of the categorical statement made in the counter affidavit filed by the Principal Secretary to Government, Irrigation and Command Area Development, I deem it appropriate to dispose of the writ petition, directing the respondents to pay the decretal amount as per the decrees passed in O.P.Nos.348 of 1999 and batch, if such decrees became final, within a period of five months from today. Subject to the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
As a sequel, WPMP.No.38010 of 2012 stands closed.
