ORDER:
Heard the Government Pleader for Land Acquisition appearing for respondent Nos.1 & 2 and Sri Jagathpal Reddi Kasi Reddy, learned counsel appearing for respondent No.3.
This writ petition is filed seeking directions to respondents 1 and 2 to deposit the cheque, for the compensation in respect of the land of the petitioners being acquired for the purpose of Outer Ring Road, before the Civil Court for appropriate orders under the Land Acquisition Act, 1894.
While admitting the writ petition on 26.04.2011, this Court granted interim stay of disbursement of the compensation for a period of eight weeks from 26.04.2011.
Learned counsel for the 3rd respondent submitted that the land in question belongs to the 3rd respondent and the claim of the petitioners was rejected on the ground that the patta produced by them is not genuine one.
When the matter was listed on 07.08.2012, as there was no representation, it was adjourned to today. Even today, when the matter is called, there is no representation for the petitioners. Hence, it is reasonable to presume that the petitioners are not interested in pursuing their cause in the writ petition. Further, the interim order granted on 26.04.2011 is not extended beyond a period of eight weeks from 26.04.2011.
Hence, the writ petition is dismissed for non-prosecution. The interim order granted on 26.04.2011 shall stand vacated. No order as to costs.
As a sequel, the miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand dismissed.
