set her on fire, as a result of which, the deceased sustained burn injuries. At that time, P.W.1, P.Ws.3 to 6 witnessed the incident. P.W.2, who is another brother of the deceased, on coming to know of the incident, shifted the deceased to the Government Hospital, Narasaraopet for treatment. On receipt of hospital intimation, P.W.11-Head Constable, Narasaraopet Town Police Station, visited the hospital and recorded the statement of the deceased and forwarded the same to P.W.12-Sub Inspector of Police, Nekarikal P.S. on point of jurisdiction, who in turn registered it as a case in Crime No.60 of 2005 under Section 307 of I.P.C. Subsequently, P.W.12 inspected the scene of offence in the presence of P.W.7, seized the material objects under cover of an observation report, prepared rough sketch of the scene of offence and recorded the statements of P.W.1 and P.Ws.3 to 6. On 27.07.2005 P.W.12, on receipt of death intimation, altered the Section of law from 307 I.P.C. to 302 I.P.C., held inquest over the dead body of the deceased in the presence of P.W.8. Subsequently P.W.9-Civil Assistant Surgeon, Narasaraopet, conducted post mortem examination over the dead body of the deceased and opined that the deceased died due to shock and haemorrhage due to deep burns. P.W.10-Inspector of police, Narasaraopet, after completion of investigation, filed charge sheet against the accused for the offence punishable under Section 302 of I.P.C.
