The case of the prosecution is that PW1 was married to A1 and A2 and A3 are parents and A4 is the brother of A1. The marriage was performed on 24.04.1994 and at that time, some presentations and cash of Rs.5,000/- were given. PW1 and A1 lived at Rangupuram and got a female child. A1 did not properly treat PW1 and he was finding fault with PW1 for giving birth to a female child. During February, 1999, he demanded a sum of Rs.2,000/- to be brought from her parents for payment of L.I.C. premium and she did not get that money and at the instance of A2 to A4, A1 abused her and beat her. She wrote a letter to her parents on 24.06.1999. Thereafter, the parents of PW1 came and took her and a complaint was given to the police. The police have, after investigation, filed charge sheet against the accused person for the offences under Sections 498-A and 323 IPC and Sections 3 and 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act. The Court below, after considering the evidence on record, found the accused not guilty and acquitted.
