Today when the contempt case is taken up for hearing, it is submitted by the learned counsel for the respondents and admitted to by the learned counsel for the petitioners that the order dated 24.10.2003, passed by this Court in W.P. No. 22899 of 1994, complaining, non-compliance of which this contempt case is filed, has been complied with.
The learned counsel for the respondents handed over the cheques to the counsel for the petitioners, who acknowledged their receipt. The learned counsel for the petitioners, however, submitted that the petitioners are receiving the compensation under the cheques under protest, and they would seek reference of the matter to the civil court for enhancement of compensation. They are at liberty to do, if the law permits.
However, as the order of this Court is complied with, no further orders need be passed in the contempt case, and the same is accordingly closed. No costs.
