ORDER:
The petitioner appeared for selection test/counselling seeking admission into Ph.D (Physics) programme of Andhra University. He stood at serial number 35 in the merit list. Therefore, he was not admitted. He, therefore, filed the writ petition seeking a direction to the respondents to provide admission into Ph.D (Physics) for the academic year 2005-06. Today, the interlocutory application, being W.P.M.P.No.854 of 2006, is listed before this Court. In the said application, the petitioner seeks a direction to the respondents to reserve one seat in Ph.D (Physics) programme.
At the time of hearing of the interlocutory application, the learned Standing Counsel for Andhra University, Dr. P.B. Vijaya Kumar, on instructions, submits that the ViceChancellor of the University would consider the case of the petitioner if an appropriate application is made. Accordingly, liberty is given to the petitioner to approach the Vice-Chancellor by making appropriate representation. As and when such representation is made, the Vice-Chancellor may consider for admission to the petitioner in Ph.D (Physics).
The writ petition, at the interlocutory stage itself, is accordingly disposed of. No costs.
