At the outset, Mr. G.S. Gill, learned Additional Advocate General assisted by Ms. Shikha Sharma, representing the respondents-State submits that as per the instructions received and in terms of the status reports dated 09.12.2024, 15.01.2025 & 17.05.2025 filed by the concerned State authorities, most of the encroachments have already been removed.

1.1 He further assures the Court that in the event any encroachment remains, the same shall also be removed.

In light of such assurance given by learned Additional Advocate General, the present writ petition (PIL) is disposed of. The said assurance given by learned Additional Advocate General that most of the encroachments have already been removed is accepted. In case, any cause of action remains, it shall be open for the petitioners to make a representation to the competent authorities and approach this Court again, if needed. All pending applications, if any, also stand disposed of.
