A limited prayer has been made in this writ petition seeking directions against the Rent Tribunal to decide the eviction application expeditiously and within a time frame.

Counsel for the petitioner submits that the eviction petition filed by the petitioner against the respondent tenant is pending before the Rent Tribunal since last more than 11 years and till date only issues have been settled and the matter has not proceeded. Counsel submits that the eviction application is proceeding like a snails pace. Counsel submits that looking to the age of the litigation, appropriate directions be issued to the Rent Tribunal to

decide the eviction petition expeditiously as early as possible.

Considering the arguments put forward by the learned counsel for the petitioner and looking to the fact that the eviction petition is pending before the Rent Tribunal since last more than a decade and the same has not been finalized till date, inspite of passing of considerable time, instant petition stands disposed of with directions to the Rent Tribunal to decide the eviction application expeditiously as early as possible, preferably within a period of one year from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
