This habeas corpus petition has been filed by the petitioner alleging that his daughter is missing since 10.11.2022 and he has apprehension that she may be in illegal confinement of the private respondent Nos.5 to 8.

Learned AAG-cum-GA has submitted the factual reports from time to time, wherein it is mentioned that the police have investigated into the missing person report and FIR lodged by the petitioner and during the course of investigation it is found that the private respondent Nos.5 to 8 are not responsible for missing the daughter of the petitioner.

In the latest factual report dated 05.04.2023 submitted by learned AAG-cum-GA, it is also mentioned that the private respondent Nos.5 to 8 are very much available for investigation and the police, after thorough investigation, have come to the conclusion that the corpus has neither been abducted by the private respondent Nos.5 to 8 nor she is in their illegal confinement. It is further mentioned in the factual report that the corpus is major and she may left the house of the petitioner on her own will.

Taking into consideration the above facts and circumstances of the case, we are of the opinion that there is no point in keeping this habeas corpus petition pending, therefore, the same is hereby disposed of with a direction to the police to continue with the

investigation into the missing person report and the FIR lodged by the petitioner and shall make every endeavour to trace out the corpus.
