Twenty-three villagers of Village Arniya Chauhan have forwarded identically worded letters with absolutely vague allegations levelled against Hindustan Zinc Ltd. Agucha, Tehsil Hurda District Bhilwara and a prayer is made to grant permission to the petitioners to end their lives as a way of redressal of their grievances.

On the last date of hearing, a direction was issued to intimate the petitioners to remain personally present in the Court. All petitioners, residents of Tehsil Phuliya Kalan except the petitioner Raj Kishore S/o Shri Deep Chand Jayaswal are present in the Court. Upon enquiry being made, the petitioners candidly conceded that a lawyer from Delhi who is also pleading their matters before the Labour Court, fraudulently instigated them to sign these letters and that they had never intended to invoke the writ jurisdiction of this Court in this manner. This Court is further informed that most of the petitioners have raised industrial disputes in relation to the issues which have been presented by way of these letters. The petitioners prayed that they do not crave any further directions in this matter and thus, the writ petition may be disposed of.

Having gone through the contents of the letters and after considering the submissions advanced at bar, more particularly keeping in view the fact that the labour disputes raised by some of the petitioners have been concluded by the Industrial Tribunal and writ petitions have been filed against those orders, it is manifest that no issue of public interest is involved in this writ petition. Hence, the same is dismissed.
