In this public interest petition the grievance raised by the petitioner is that in a certain section of roads in town of Bundi the work carried out by the contractor-respondent No.6 is extremely inferior in nature as a result of which there is water logging and serious damage to the road. The prayer made therefore is to

direct the State authorities to take action against respondent No.6 and to stop all payments.
In our view for such reasons public interest jurisdiction should not and cannot be exercised. The administration is entrusted to the State Government and other institutions of local self governance. The Court is entrusted with the judicial duties. Accepting the request of the petitioner would completely amount to role reversal. Unless the cause is serious and touches the sizable section of the citizens, the Court cannot get into the minor administration and integrity of running the administration. The petitioner must ventilate his grievances before the authorities or the elected members of the democratic institutions.
Petition is dismissed.
