The State authorities have filed a reply dated 04.12.2021 in Civil Writ Petition No.830/2021 in which it is pointed out that as soon as the death of the birds was reported at village Kaparda in Jodhpur District, a team was formed which obtained samples of two dead birds which samples were sent to ICAR National Institute of High Security Animal Disease Bhopal for testing. The report indicated that the birds had died of H-5N-1 (Avian Influenza). This report was received on 11.11.2021. Immediately, the Government of India had also issued guidelines on 12.11.2021 for taking steps for prevention and control of avian influenza particularly in poultry birds. It is stated that pursuant to such guidelines circular has also been issued on the same day to all the District Collectors to constitute Rapid Response Team in coordination with the Animal Husbandry Department, District administration, Police Department, Medical Department, Forest Department, etc. Control rooms have also been established. All veterinary officials have been asked to remain vigilant and take appropriate measures to control the spread of the disease. 17 rapid response teams have been constituted which are monitoring the situation continuously. A State level control room at Jaipur has also been established on 13.11.2021. The area within 1 km of the affected Village Kaparda has also been disinfected and movement of public is restricted. Guards have been posted for such purposes.
