Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner had applied for the post of LDC under the Rajasthan LDC Recruitment, 2013. The last date for submission of application form was 22^nd March, 2013. Learned counsel also submits that after having applied for the post, the petitioner become a widow on account of death of her husband on 26th December, 2015. Learned counsel further submits that the result was declared on 19th August, 2017 and the petitioner should be treated as a widow and as per the cut off marks, she should be given appointment.

High Court, Jodhpur, this court held that if a candidate was an OBC before last date of submission of examination form and there is any error committed, then also she should be treated as OBC.

In another case, this Court has taken a view that so far as the status of an individual is concerned, the same has to be examined on the cut off date. As on the cut off date, the petitioner was not a widow and subsequently, a widow would not change her status for the purpose of consideration for selection. Similar view has been taken by this court in SBCWP No.11625/2020 in Sumitra Versus State of Rajasthan.

In view of the above, the present writ petition is found o be devoid of merit and the same is accordingly dismissed.
