By way of this writ petition, the petitioner is seeking directions to the respondents to enhance the upper age limit from 35 years to 40 years by amending Rule 17 of the Rajasthan Judicial Service Rules, 2010 (‘the Rules of 2010’) so as to enable the petitioner and his likes to appear in the competitive examination of Civil Judge Cadre pursuant to the advertisement dated 15.11.18 issued by the Registrar (Examination), Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that Rule 17 of the Rules of 2010 already stands amended and the upper age limit under Rule 17 stands enhanced from 35 years to 40 years by way of Rajasthan Judicial Service (Amendment) Rules, 2018, notified in Official Gazette dated 27.12.18 and therefore, the writ petition has rendered infructuous.
Dismissed accordingly.
