The issue in this petition is with regard to the petitioner’s eligibility for appointment to the post of the College Lecturer (Botany) pursuant to the advertisement dated 12.01.2015. The petitioner having participated in the written examination was not being considered for interview. In the circumstances he approached this court.

Vide interim order dated 25.04.2018, the court directed that the petitioner be provisionally allowed to participate in the selection process i.e. interview for appointment to the post of

College Lecturer (Botany) but his result would be kept in a seal cover and declared only with the permission of this court.

The result of the petitioner following his provisional participation in the interview for the post in issue under the interim order of this court has now been produced, as required before this court. It transpires therefrom that the petitioner as an OBC candidate has secured 80.16 marks in the written examination and 15 at the interview. His aggregate mark thus is 90.16. The cut off mark for appointment of OBC candidate to the post of College Lecturer (Botany) is stated to be 102.93. The petitioner obviously with the 95.16 mark therefore cannot be appointed to the post of College Lecturer (Botany).

A copy of the result of the petitioner has been passed over to the court which is taken on record. A copy thereof has also been served on the petitioner’s counsel in court.

In view of the facts recorded above, there is no force in the petition. Dismissed.
