Petitioner has preferred this Criminal Misc. Petition aggrieved by order dated 25.01.2017 vide which the court has awarded interim maintenance of Rs.3000/- per month to the respondent No.1 wife and Rs. 2000/- per month to the respondent No.2 daughter of the petitioner.

It is contended by the counsel for the petitioner that there are prospects of amicable settlement between the parties and the same should be explored to save the family.

I have considered the contentions, as far as the Criminal Misc. Petition against the award of interim order of maintenance is

concerned. The petitioner is serving in the Electricity Board as Technical Helper and, therefore, the amount awarded as interim maintenance do not call for any interference.

The Criminal Misc. Petition is accordingly dismissed.

However, it is observed that if the petitioner approaches the Family Court, the Family Court will take necessary steps to ascertain prospects of settlement.

Stay Application is also dismissed.
