Learned counsel prays for disposal of the writ petition with liberty to make a representation to the respondents to grant age relaxation for appointment to the post of Librarian Gr III. The post in question has been advertised after lapse of more than a decade and, in the meanwhile, petitioners became overage. The respondents were under an obligation to determine and advertise the posts every year. It is due to failure on the part of the respondents that the petitioners would not be entitled to get chance of consideration for appointment to the post in question. The representation may accordingly be considered in the light of the aforesaid.

I have considered the submission and perused the record. As prayed, writ petitions are disposed of with liberty sought for. In

case of representation/s, respondents would be expected to consider the issue of delay in holding recruitment on the post of Librarian Gr III. As per the existing rule, relaxation for three years in age is provided if the selection has not been conducted in previous years. It is, however, a case where selection has been conducted after lapse of a decade. The representation/s would be decided within a period of six weeks from the date of its receipt. If the representation/s is decided favourable, then petitioners would further be permitted to submit application form and, for which, last date for submission of application form would not come in their way.
