By way of filing the instant appeal, the appellant-claimant/ widow of deceased-Gurjinder Singh w h o died in a motor vehicular accident t hat took place on 08.05.2020, seeks enhancement of compensat i on amount of ₹20,69,000/- a w arded by the learned Motor Accident C laims Tribunal, Hoshiarpur a long with interest @ 9% per annum, vi d e impugned Award dated 03. 0 1.2022 passed in MACT Case RBT No. 6 2 dated 14.10.2020/02.04.2021 filed under Section 166 of the Motor Ve h icles Act, 1988.

The matter pertains to the ye a r 2022 and has been filed with delay of 1 9 0 days. Notice in the appeal is y et to be issued. On the last date of hearing i.e. 01.07.2025, the present ap p eal was adjourned for today at the reque s t of learned proxy counsel for the appellant; and last opportunit y was granted to learned coun s el for the appellant to address arguments .

A bare reading of the above facts shows that the appellant has exhib i ted an utterly casual attitude in her pursuit of the present litigation. I t is to be appreciated that ve r y valuable public time of the Court has b een expended in affording opp o rtunities to the appellant in the interest of j ustice. On the other hand, the a ppellant has adopted an utterly casual and careless approach. It is clear t h at neither the appellant nor her counsel is seriously interested in pursuin g the present matter. Thus, this Court is l e ft with no other option excep t to dismiss the same for nonprosecutio n .
