Claimant is in appeal seeking enhancement of compensation awarded by MACT, Hoshiarpur.

Claimant filed petition under Section 166 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 seeking compensation on account of injuries sustained by her in a motor-vehicular accident, dated 25.05.2022.

It has come on record that the claimant was hospitalized on 06.06.2022 and was discharged on 09.06.2022. From medical record Exhibits A2 to A9, it is evident that she suffered fracture and dislocation of first metatarsal of left foot and fracture of 3^rd 4^th and 5^th metatarsal. Surgery was done in form of K-wiring and she was treated conservatively. The

nature of injury was grievous. She was prescribed rest for 1 month after surgery and has been rendered crippled from running and doing heavy work for rest of her life. She was 35 years of age at the time of accident. The Tribunal awarded her lump sum amount of Rs.50,000/-.
