The present writ petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India seeking direction upon the respondents to provide the information sought by the petitioner through RTI application dated 13.12.2024 (Annexure P-1) and to decide the pending second appeal dated 11.03.2025 (Annexure P-3) expeditiously and within a time bound manner.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner had submitted an RTI application dated 13.12.2024 seeking various Panchayat records, but despite the expiry of the statutory period, the requested information was not supplied. It is submitted that the petitioner thereafter filed a First Appeal dated 23.01.2025 and a Second Appeal dated 11.03.2025, which is still pending before the Punjab State Information Commission. The petitioner also submitted complaints before the competent authorities regarding alleged irregularities in the disposal of Panchayat assets
