The petitioner has filed the p resent petition under Article 226 of t h e Constitution of India for issuance of a direction to responde n ts No.1 to 3 to protect the life a nd liberty of petitioner from the hands of private respondents No.4 to 17.

The brief facts of the case a re that son of the petitioner, namely, Jahir and one girl-Rihana, dau g hter of Sehzad, resident of village K h ori Jamalpur, District Faridab a d, are major and were in a relationsh i p with each other of their o wn free will and consent. However, the family members of the g irl were opposing the said relationsh i p. The petitioner along w ith his son submitted a represent a tion seeking protection of li f e and liberty apprehending danger at the hands of the girl’s famil y members. The son of the petitioner along with his friend Rihana a p proached this Court by filing

a petition seeking protection of their life and liberty. The said petition was disp o sed of vide order dated 01.04.2026 (Annexure P-3) with a direction to respondent No.2 therein to consider the representation submitted by the petitioners therein and t o take an appropriate action as per law. A perusal of the case file woul d show that the petitioner and his anoth e r son, namely, Saikul was beat e n and physically assaulted by the girl’s family members and were thre a tened. The petitioner again submitted a representation dated 20.05. 2 026 (Annexure P-5) before responde n t No.2 for seeking protectio n of life and liberty of the petitioner and his son, namely, Saikul. As per the petitioner, no action has been taken on the abovesaid represen t ation by the respondents. As such, the p etitioner has filed the present p e tition.

Learned counsel appearing o n behalf of the petitioner, on instructio n s from the petitioner, submits that the petitioner would be satisfied, i f at this stage, direction is give n to respondent No.2 to decide the repre s entation dated 20.05.2026 ( A nnexure P-5) submitted by petitioner in a time-bound manner.

Learned State counsel does not oppose the prayer made by the learne d counsel appearing on behalf o f the petitioner. 5. In view of the above and w ithout commenting upon the merits of the case, the present petition i s hereby disposed of with a direction t o respondent No.2 to consider a nd decide the representation dated 20. 0 5.2026 (Annexure P-5) submi t ted by the petitioner and to assess the threat perception to the petitioner and after considering the
