Punjab & Haryana High Court at Chandigarh (Vinod S. Bhardwaj, J., oral) disposed of CRWP-4257-2026(O&M) decided on 15.04.2026. Petitioners Sukrana and Akram Deen, majors living together in a live-in relationship unacceptable to private respondents No.4 to 7, approached the Court under Article 226 of the Constitution seeking protection of their life and liberty, alleging threats and constant danger of implication in a false case; a representation dated 11.04.2026 (Annexure P-4) had already been submitted to respondent No.2, Superintendent of Police, District Nuh. Th e petitioners namely Sukran a and Akram Deen have approached thi s Court under Article 226 of t h e Constitution of India for seeking directio n s to official respondents to pro t ect the life and liberty of the petitioners fro m the hands of private responden t s No.4 to 7.

Le a rned counsel for the petitioner s inter alia contends that the petitioners are major and are staying toge t her in live-in relationship. However, their relationship is not acceptable t o the private respondents and as a result ther e of, the private respondents are t hreatening the petitioners. A representation d ated 11.04.2026 (Annexure P- 4 ) against the threat extended at the hands o f the private respondents alre a dy stands submitted by the petitioners to th e respondent No.2- Superintend e nt of Police, District Nuh. Having heard the counsel for the parties, the present petition is being disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3 - Station House Officer, Police Station Jhirka, District Nuh (Mewat) to look into the grievances of the petitioners as set out in the petition and also expressed in the representation dated 11.04.2026 (Annexure P-4) and take appropriate action for protection of their lives and liberty as may be warranted by the circumstances.

However, it is clarified that in case any criminal case has been/is registered against the petitioners nothing in this order shall be construed as a bar for taking appropriate action by the police authorities in respect thereof in accordance with law.

The Registry is directed to send a copy of this order along with copy of the petition and above-said representation to respondent No.3 - Station House Officer, Police Station Jhirka, District Nuh (Mewat) for requisite compliance.
