The prayer in the criminal writ petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner and his family members against illegal harassment, extortion and threats meted out to him at the instance of respondent No.5.

The learned State counsel, at the very outset, submits that the petitioner is not required as an accused in FIR No. 362 dated 17.11.2022 under Sections 18(B), 15(B), 61, 85 NDPS Act, in connection with which the police party had gone to the house of the petitioner. She further states that in case the presence of the petitioner will be required in any case, he will be summoned as per law.

In view of the above, no further orders are required to be passed by this Court, at this stage.

Disposed of.

All the pending miscellaneous applications, if any, stand
