Prayer in the instant petition filed under Articles 226/2327 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of directions to official respondents No.1 to 3 to protect the lives and liberty of the petitioners, who apprehend threat to their life at the hands of respondents No.4 to 8 and not to harass or interfere in the peaceful life of the petitioners.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioners are in live-in-relationship and are being threatened with dire consequences by the private respondents. Resultantly, a representation dated 07.09.2026 (Annexure P-3) was also made to respondent No.2Commissioner of Police, District Jalandhar, Punjab, for protection of their lives and liberty but in vain. Learned counsel submits that he would be satisfied if directions are issued to respondent No.2 to look into

their representation and take appropriate steps at the earliest.
