Instant petition has been filed under Section 528 of BNSS, seeking quashing of FIR No.18 dated 20.01.2025 registered under Sections 406, 420, 465, 467, 468, 469, & 471 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Police Station Mataur, District S.A.S Nagar (Mohali) and all the consequential proceedings arising therefrom, on the basis of the compromise dated 08.08.2025 (Annexure P-2), effected between the parties.

Vide order dated 19.02.2026, the affected parties were directed to appear before the learned Trial Court/Illaqa Magistrate, for getting their respective statements recorded with regard to the compromise.

Report has since been received from learned District and Sessions Judge, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali), in pursuance to the directions of this Court wherein, the factum of the compromise arrived at between the parties stands verified and confirmed. As per the report(s) compromise has indeed been ef-

fected between the parties and the same is without any pressure or coercion and out of their free will and the private respondents have also made statement to the effect that they would have no objection if the FIR qua the accused-petitioners is quashed.

The trial Court has annexed the statements of the parties in original, along with its report.

Learned State counsel too submits that there are no other accused other than the petitioners and the private respondents are the only aggrieved persons in the FIR in question.
