The instant petition has been filed by the petitioners for directions to the respondents No.2 & 3 to decide the representation dated 15.01.2026 to secure the return of the petitioners’ signed cheques from respondent No.4 and to prevent their misuse and also to protect the life & liberty and property of the petitioner from the respondent No.4 and to take legal action including registration of the FIR.

The learned counsel representing the petitioners submits that the petitioner has filed the representation dated 15.01.2025 (Annexure P-2) before the respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police Fatehgarh Sahib. The learned counsel prays for disposing of the present petition by issuing directions to the respondent No.2 to decide the abovementioned representation within the stipulated time.

Since advance notice has already been served upon the State, Mr. Jasdev Singh Thind, DAG, Punjab, has appeared on behalf of respondent-State. Hence, service of notice upon the State is hereby dispensed with.

Keeping in view the aforesaid facts, the present petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to the respondent No.2 to decide the representation of the petitioners (Annexure P-2), by passing a speaking order within a period of 15 days from the date of receipt of copy of instant order. It is however clarified that no finding is being returned, by this Court, with regard to merits of the contents of representation. The respondent No.2 shall be at liberty to make an independent assessment with regard to contents of representation of the petitioners, and take an independent decision at his own level.
