FIR No. 360 dated 17.05.2025 under Sections 406, 420 and 120-B IPC registered at Police Station Karnal Sadar, District Karnal, and all subsequent proceedings arising therefrom, quashed qua petitioner Sarika Kalra @ Kalra Sarika Ashok on the basis of compromise dated 24.04.2026. Petitioner seeks quashing of FIR No. 360 dated 17.05.2025 under Sections 406, 420 and 120-B Indian Penal Code, Police Station Karnal Sadar, District Karnal and all subsequent proceedings arising therefrom, on the basis of compromise 24.04.2026.

On 14.05.2026, this Court directed the parties to appear before the trial Court/Illaqa Magistrate for recording of their statements with regard to compromise.

In compliance of the order dated 14.05.2026, parties appeared before learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Karnal on 25.05.2026. Statement of the Investigating Officer, SI Charan Singh No. 909, Karnal PS Sadar, Karnal was recorded on 27.05.2026. Learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Karnal has submitted his report recording satisfaction that all the

parties have entered into a valid compromise without any influence or coercion. Relevant portion of the report is reproduced as under:

“a) As per statement of IO, present FIR has been registered against accused persons namely Sarika Kalra and Dharambir and during investigation Dharambir was found innocent.

b) As per statement of IO, challan has been submitted before the court qua accused Sarika Kalra.

c) As per statement of IO, accused person has not been declared Proclaimed offender and no criminal case is pending against the accused.

d) Undersigned recorded statement of the parties with regard to the compromise and no on the basis of the statements of the parties and statement of IO, as referred above, undersigned is of the view that the compromise is genuine and not the result of any fraud or misrepresentation, rather is the result of free will of the parties;”

Learned State counsel and learned counsel for respondent No. 2 have not raised any dispute regarding the factum of compromise. Since the matter has been amicably resolved, continuation of the criminal proceedings would be an exercise in futility.
