The police party signalled the rider to stop the motorcycle, however, he got perplexed and tried to fled away from the spot. However, with the help of the police officials, both were apprehended along with the motorcycle. On asking, the rider of the motorcycle disclosed his name to be Sumer Singh @ Shambu, whereas the women sitting pillion, disclosed her name to be Jeeto Bai, i.e. the petitioner. They were suspected to be carrying some contraband and thus, their personal search as well as the search of motorcycle was conducted. On conducting the search of the motorcycle, a black coloured polythene bag on the fuel tank of the motorcycle was recovered and further on conducting the search of the polythene bag, 50 strips of intoxicant tablets, i.e. total 2000 tablets containing Tramadol Hydrochloride and 11 boxes of intoxicant capsules and each box having 10 strips, thus, in total 1100 capsules brand Pregabalin were recovered from the same. They failed to produce any licence regarding the conscious possession of the same, thus, the FIR was registered and both were arrested on the spot. On registration of the FIR, the investigation commenced. The samples taken were sent to the FSL. On completion of the investigation, the challan was presented and on framing of charges, the trial commenced. The petitioner approached the Court of learned Judge, Special Court, Fazilka, praying for the grant of regular bail. However, after hearing both the sides and finding no merit in the same, the learned Judge, Special Court, Fazilka, dismissed the bail application filed by the petitioner vide order dated 31.05.2025.
