It was also infor m ed that the logo displayed in t h e certificate also did not belon g to the Universit y . An inquiry was conducted thereafter. As per the inquir y report, the mark - sheet submitted by accused N a veen was found to be fake an d fabricated. His c andidature was cancelled. He w as arrested on 26.04.2025. H e suffered disclosure statement admitting his i nvolvement in the crime an d disclosed that it was the accused Rohit who h a d provided a forged degree t o him. The accus e d Rohit was also arrested subs e quently and suffered disclosur e statement admitting his involvement in the crim e . 3. On e more accused namely Robin w as nominated as such and ha d been extended b enefit of interim bail. He suff e red disclosure statement to th e effect that he ha d come into contact with the pr e sent petitioner in the year 201 9 who had repres e nted to him that he was Vice- C hancellor of CIMN University , Nepalganga and that he used to facilitate issuan c e of degrees from online Globa l University, Itan a gar, Arunachal Pradesh through his office. He had induced hi m to join his busi n ess. The above-said Robin fur t her disclosed that out of greed , he had joined t h e petitioner and on asking o f accused Rohit, had asked th e petitioner to get a graduation degree (B.Sc.) is s ued in favour of Naveen. Th e petitioner had demanded a sum of Rs.22,000/ - for this purpose and had sen t copy of a mark - sheet degree through WhatsA p p to accused Rohit and in lie u thereof, he had g iven a sum of Rs.22,000/- to th e petitioner. In pursuance of hi s disclosure state m ent, the petitioner was no m inated as additional accused .
