Learned State counsel refers to the status report, filed by way of affidavit of Deputy Superintendent of Police (Sub Division), Zira, District Ferozepur to submit that inquiry has been conducted, which is reproduced in para 9 thereof and in para 10 to 12, it is stated thus:-

“10. That now after receipt of the Histopathology report, final opinion regarding cause of death has been obtained and the board of Doctors has opined, “after Perusal of above documents, we are of the opinion that, the cause of death in this case is antemortem drowning which is sufficient to cause death in ordinary course of nature”. The copy of said report is Annexure R3.

That now no further action is required to be taken in the matter in view of the cause of death of report Annexure R-3.

That moreover, there is no apprehension to the life and liberty of the petitioner. Moreover, the answering respondents are duty bound to protect the life and liberty of every citizen of the country.”

In view of the above, no further orders are required to be passed.

Disposed of, however, reserving the petitioner with a liberty to avail of alternate remedy that may be available to her, in accordance with law, if any grievance still subsists and with regard to protection of life and liberty, in case required may file representation, which official respondents shall decide, in accordance with law and if any threat perception is found, take appropriate action.
