Present contempt petition has been filed alleging violation of order dated 27.1.2025 (An n exure P-1) passed by a coordinate Bench of this Court in CW P -8881-2019 titled as “Ravi Raman v s. State of Punjab and others ” , whereby the petition was disposed of in terms of order dated 03.8.2010 passed by the Division Bench in LPA-899-2010 titled as “State of Punjab and others vs. Dr. Bhushan Lal Malhotra” [ State of Punjab and others vs. Dr. Bhushan Lal Malhotra 2011(1) SLR 496 Law Fin d er Doc Id #216778].

It is submitted by learned c ounsel for the State that the case of t h e petitioner has been positive l y considered, approved and accepted by the respondents vide ord e r dated 28.11.2025. It is

submitte d that the respondents have writ t en to the petitioner to supply the rema i ning documents. Learned cou n sel for the State also handed over a c o py of the order dated 20.1.2 0 26 passed by the Director Principal , Govt. Medical College, Amrits a r, which reads as follows :-

“In complianc e with the orders passed by the Hon'ble High Co u rt in LPA No. 1368 of 2025 dated 29/07/2025 a n d the letter issued by the Director, Research and Medical Education, Punjab vide No. 4 M E.2.Pb.-2025/16140 dated 11/11/2025, Shri Rav i Raman son of Shri Krishan Kumar, resident of 1 24, Gopal Nagar, Majitha Road, Amritsar, was informed through this office letter No. 46272 date d 28/11/2025 for the purpose of granting retiremen t benefits (copy enclosed).

However, the said letter could not be received at the emplo y ee's residential address and was returned to t h is office. Thereafter, on 12/12/2025, the letter was sent by this office to the employee's WhatsApp number, which was received by him (screenshot e n closed). Subsequently, some documents of the employee were sent to this office on 19/01/2026 th r ough WhatsApp by his friend/family member. and photographs were also received by this offic e by hand. As some required documents of the e m ployee were found to be incomplete, he was as k ed to complete the same. The employee' s friend/family member also informed that due to S hri Ravi Raman's ill health, he is presently una b le to appear personally at Government Medica l College, Amritsar. The pension case of the e mployee can be completed

and forwarded to the A ccountant General, Punjab only after his persona l appearance in this office.” Copy of the said order is taken on record and copy thereof is supplied to learned counsel for t he petitioner.

Learned counsel for the p etitioner submits that the petitione r is unable to appear before the respondents as he has recently u ndergone his knee surgery.

Learned counsel for the State submits that as the pension case of t he petitioner is of the year 2013, therefore, his personal presence and verification is necessary. L earned counsel for the State further i n forms that the case of the petiti o ner has also been forwarded to the off i ce of the Accountant General, P unjab, for compliance.

Heard.

In view of the facts noted above, no further directions are required t o be passed as the case of the petitioner has been accepted by the r e spondents. Therefore, the p resent contempt petition is disposed of accordingly.

Rule stands discharged.

¶30

Needless to say as and whe n the petitioner is able to put in appear a nce before the respondents, the pension due to the petitioner shall be r e leased to him.
