The present contempt peti t ion has been filed alleging violation o f order dated 18.11.2025 (An n exure P-1) passed by the Writ Court in C W P-31454-2025, titled as ‘Bish a n Dass vs. State of Punjab and others’, w h ereby the respondent was dire c ted to pay interest @ 6% per annum wh i ch was to be calculated from 0 2 months after the retirement till its actual r e alization; and to release the sa m e within a period of 03 months from the d a te of receipt of certified copy o f the said order. 2. It is submitted by learned c o unsel for the petitioner that in pursuance to the Writ Court order dated 1 8.11.2025 (Annexure P-1), the petitioner h as moved a representation d a ted 28.11.2025 which has not been deci d ed till date; and even though 0 3 months have been passed, no amount ha s been released in favour of the p etitioner.

Ms. Roja Agnihotri, Advo c ate who is present in Court accepts no t ice on behalf of the responden t and submits her Vakalatnama which is taken on record. 5. Learned counsel for th e respondent submits that representa t ion of the petitioner stands dec i ded vide Speaking Order dated 23.02.202 6 . 6. Copy of Speaking Order da t ed 23.02.2026 handed over in Court by learned counsel for the respond e nt is taken on record. A copy thereof, ha s also been supplied to learned c ounsel for the petitioner.

Learned counsel for the respo n dent refers to para No. 4 of the aforesaid S peaking Order wherein the r espondent has undertaken to release the dues to the petitioner by 15.04. 2 026. 8. Learned counsel for the p e titioner has not disputed the aforesaid s ubmissions of learned counsel f or the respondent and submits that in vie w of the aforesaid undertaking g iven by the respondent in para No. 4 of the Speaking Order dated 23.02.2 0 26, the present petition may be disposed o f, with liberty to the petitione r revive the same in case any cause of a c tion still survives.

In view of the facts noted ab o ve, the present petition stands disposed of, accordingly. Needless to say , the respondent shall be bound by the afo r esaid undertaking. It is also ma d e clear that in case, the needful is not don e within the stipulated date i.e. 15.04.2026, the petitioner shall be entitled to costs of ₹25,000/- to be paid b y the respondent from his own pocket.
