The husband of appellant No.1, was employed with respond e ntState Bank of India, and died in harness o n 20.02.2005. An application for ex-gratia a m ount was moved on 08.06.20 0 6, which came to be rejected on 06.09.2006. This order was not assailed. H o wever, the writ petition came to be filed in th e year 2012, stating that neit h er appellants have been allo w ed compassio n ate appointment, nor ex-gratia a mount has been released to th e m. The policy for providing ex-gratia payme n t was introduced in the month of October, 2005.

This Court on the previous oc c asion had directed the respond e ntBank, to e x amine the petitioners/appella n ts case, for release of ex-gr a tia amount on c ompassionate ground. A state m ent is made by the learned cou n sel for the resp o ndent-Bank, on the basis of c o mmunication dated 28.07.2025, as MANPREET SINGH 2025.08.06 10:39 I attest to the accuracy andauthenticity of this per which, the Bank will consider the appellants request for release of order/judgment
