National Lok Adalat, Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh (Mandeep Pannu, President; Sanjeev Sharma, Member), 13.09.2025: In the insurer's appeal FAO-2354-2016 (O&M) against the MACT award, with cross objections XOBJC-79-CII-2017 by the claimants, upon separately recorded consent statements of counsel for both sides, a sum of Rs.2,00,000/- (Rupees Two Lac Only) over and above the amount awarded by the Tribunal was allowed to the respondents/cross objectors in the same ratio as apportioned by the learned MACT, in full and final settlement. The Insurance Company was directed to deposit a crossed-cheque for that amount with the office of the Lok Adalat of the High Court within 06 weeks, failing which interest @ 7% per annum was to run on the amount till payment from the date of the order.
