Through the instant writ petition filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India, a prayer is made for issuance of a mandamus upon respondents no.2-Civil Surgeon, Sangrur, to constitute a Medical Board, to examine the mother of the petitioner, to consider the complaint filed by the petitioner on account of medical negligence.

On the previous date of hearing, i.e. 06.03.2025, this Court had directed the learned State counsel to have apt instructions from respondent no.2, as to why, till date the medical board, as required in view of notification dated 22.05.2017, has not been constituted.

In deference the direction ( supra ), today a reply, dated 10.03.2025, by way of an affidavit of Dr.Vikas Dhir, Civil Surgeon, Sangrur, has been filed, in the Court, which is ordered to be taken on record, with a copy thereof supplied to learned counsel opposite.

The reply ( supra ), voiced about constitution of a medical board, and it further states that the inquiry is underway and the committee/board may conclude the inquiry within a period of one month. 5.
