Petition herein is for issuance of a Writ in the nature of Certiorari for setting aside Notification dated 24.12.2024 (Annexure P1), whereby category wise population has wrongly been calculated and the seat for the post of Chairman of Municipal Committee, Pataudi Jatauli Mandi, District Gurugram has wrongly been reserved for Schedule Caste candidate; for directing the respondents to re-conduct the survey regarding calculation of the population and with further prayer to consider and decide the representation dated 06.01.2025.

At the outset, learned counsel for the petitioners submit that the petitioners would be satisfied, in case, the pending representation (Annexure P-2) is decided by respondent No.3, which has not been adverted to by the respondents, till date.

On the other hand, on advance service of copy of petition, learned State counsel appears and opposes issuance of notice of motion.
