(1) Through the instant petition Gram Panchayat of Village Ratta Tibba, Tehsil Malout, District Sri Muktsar Sahib has petitioned this Court seeking issuance of directions to the State to release in the petitioner’s favour an amount of Rs.30,83,076/- which according to the petitioner had been agreed to be released by the State to the petitioner-Gram Panchayat through letter dated 07.07.2015 (Annexure P- 2). On the afore amount the petitioner also seeks interest @ 18% per annum.

(2) At the outset, learned Stated counsel submits that the claim made by the petitioner-Gram Panchayat through the present petition shall be considered by the competent authority and an appropriate order in this regard shall be passed within one month from today.

(3) In the light of the afore statement, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to competent authority of the State to consider the petitioner-Gram Panchayat’s claim made through the instant petition, within one month from today, in accordance with law and after hearing all concerned. It is further directed that in case the petitioner-Gram Panchayat is held entitled by the State to the aforesaid claimed amount and there is no plausible reason by the State in the delay of its disbursal, the petitioner shall be paid the said amount alongwith simple interest @ 6% per annum.
