The petitioners, six in number, by way of present writ petition, seek issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents to pay the solatium and interest on the delayed disbursement of compensation from the date of notification till its realization.

[2] At the outset, learned counsel for the petitioners, on instructions, submits that instead of pressing the present petition on merits, his clients would be satisfied in case their representation dated 18.12.2019 (Annexure P-4) made before respondent No. 2 for releasing the solatium and interest on the compensation of the acquired land is decided expeditiously.

[3] Learned State Counsel assures the Court to decide the aforesaid representation within four weeks from today.
