Present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of directions to respondents No. 1 to 3 for protecting the life and liberty of the petitioners, who apprehend danger at the hands of private respondents and further not to interfere in the peaceful life of the petitioners at the instance of any complaint filed by the private respondents and other relatives/friends.

Learned counsel for the petitioners contends that the marriage of the petitioner No.1 was solemnized with respondent No.6-Kulwant Singh against her wishes and two children were born out of the said wedlock. After marriage with the respondent No.6-husband, the petitioner No.1 was physically and mentally harassed and tortured by her in-laws and husband for dowry. He further contends that the employer of the respondent No.6-

husband namely, Partap Singh misbehaved inappropriately with petitioner No.1 but her husband did not intervene. He also contends that petitioner No.1 ran away with her two children and is now living with the petitioner No.2 and they will marry only when respondent No.6-husband files for divorce. Learned counsel for the petitioners further contends that petitioners have submitted a representation dated 28.05.2025 (Annexures P-3) to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Moga and respondent No.3-Station House Officer, Police Station Dharamkkot, Moga mentioning the grievance raised herein, however the same has not been decided till date. It is further contended by learned counsel for the petitioners that petitioners would be satisfied if the representation dated 28.05.2025 (Annexure P-3) is decided by the respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Moga.

Notice of motion restricted to respondent Nos. 1 to 3, only. Mr. K.D. Sachdeva, DAG Punjab, who is present in the Court, accepts notice on behalf of respondents No. 1 to 3 and has no objection if the present petition is disposed of directing the respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Moga to decide the representation dated 28.05.2025 (Annexure P-3) in accordance with law.
