The petitioners have filed th e present petition under Articles 226/227 of t he Constitution of India for is s uance of direction to responde n ts No.2 & 3 t o protect the life and liberty of the petitioners from the hands of respondents No.4 to 6, who are harassing and threatening the petitioners to eliminate th e m in order to save their prestige in the society. 2. Learned counsel for the petiti o ners has submitted that both t he petitioners a r e major and unmarried. It is su b mitted that both the petitioners a re living in liv e -in relationship against the w i shes of private respondents. I t is further sub m itted that the petitioners appre h end danger from respondent nos.4 to 6. The p etitioners have submitted a representation dated 01.05.2 0 25 (Annexure P -3) to respondent no.2 for gr a nting protection to their life a nd liberty.

Without entering upon an ex e rcise to evaluate the evidenti a ry value of the documents placed on the file , I dispose of the petition wit h a direction to respondent no.2- Superintend e nt of Police, District Panipat, to decide the representation (Annexure P-3) o f the petitioners and grant th e m protection, i f any threat to their life and liber t y is perceived. 6. It is c l arified that this order shall not be taken to grant immunity to t he petitioners f r om legal action for violation of law, if any, committed by th e m. This order w ould not be understood having expressed any opinion whatsoe v er by this Cour t on the validity of their live-in r e lationship.
