The p resent petition has been filed under Article 226/227 of th e Constitution of In d ia for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, directin g respondent No.1 to protect the life and liberty of p e titioner and his family member s at the hands of res p ondents No.2 to 4. 2. Learn e d State counsel has referred p a ra nos. 11 and 12 of the statu s report dated 30.0 4 .2025, filed on behalf of Se n ior Superintendent of Police , Nawanshahar, Dis t rict SBS Nagar, Punjab in co m pliance of the order passed b y this Court on 24.03.2025, which are reproduced he r eunder:-

“ 7. That the Superintendent of P olice (Investigation), SBS Nagar, throug h ly inquired the matter and recor d ed statement of the witnesses an d also e x amine the record and after tho r ough inquiry, the Inquiry Office r vide i ts report dated 20.03.2025, conc l uded that petitioner-Devraj is a habitu a l offender and is involved in dru g peddling deals in intoxicants an d as ma n y as 18 criminal cases have been registered against him in differen t police s tations of Punjab and Himachal P radesh and majority of which ar e under N DPS Act, 1985…..That the Super i ntendent of Police (Investigation), SBS N a gar, vide its report further reve a led that the family member of th e petitio n er-Devraj and his other relatives are also involved in drug peddlin g and hi s sister-Kamla Rani is involved in 09 cases of NDPS Act, 1985 an d furthe r FIR No.44 dated 21.06.2024, u n der Section 22 of the NDPS Act, 1985 w as lodged against the sons name ly Vijay Kumar and Sunny Kumar,

CRWP-2815-2025 [2] howev e r, daughter of petitioner-Devraj i s not an accused in the said cas e and s h e has not been nominated as w rongly alleged by the petitioner - Devra j in his complaints. XXX XXX XXX X XX XXX XXX 11. That it is further repo r ted by the Superintendent o f Police ( Investigation), SBS Nagar, that du e to the aforementioned reasons, the pe t itioner-Devraj is trying to overa w e the police officials by levellin g false allegations against them in order t o keep them away from his illega l activit i es, therefore, the Superintende n t of Police(Investigation), SB S Nagar, recommended to file the com p laints mentioned above, of th e petitio n er-Devraj. It is further submitt e d that the inquiry report of th e Superi n tendent of Police (Investigation), SBS Nagar, has been considere d by the answering deponent and after c onsideration the same has bee n ordere d to be filed by the answerin g deponent vide its order date d 25.03. 2 025. 12. That is respectfully submi t ted that from the inquiry carrie d out by the Superintendent of Police(Inve s tigation), SBS Nagar, it has bee n establi s hed that there is no apprehens i on to the life and liberty of th e petitio n er-Devraj or any of his family m e mbers, however, petitioner-Devra j is free to approach any of the police of fi cial of District SBS Nagar, in th e event of any apprehension to his life and l iberty…..”

In vie w of the above, no further orde r is required to be passed in th e

present petition an d same is disposed of accordingl y .
