The petitioner has filed the instant petition under Section 438 of Cr.P.C. for grant of anticipatory bail in FIR No.117 dated 08.10.2024 registered under Sections 406 & 498-A of Indian Penal Code, 1860 at Police Station Women Cell, Jalandhar.

Status report by way of an affidavit of Mr. Bharat Masih Ladhar, PPS, Assistant Commissioner of Police-PBI, Homicide & Forensic-cum-CAW & Children, Jalandhar, on behalf of the respondentState, has been filed in the Registry which is taken on record.

Vide order dated 06.02.2025, on request made by learned counsel for the petitioner and complainant, the matter was referred to Mediation and Conciliation Center of this Court for exploring the possibility of amicable settlement between the parties. As per report dated 21.04.2025 received from the mediator, the mediation has failed.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that, in pursuance to the order dated 06.02.2025 passed by this Court, the petitioner has appeared before the Investigating Officer and has joined the investigation.

Learned State counsel, on instructions from ASI Gurbachan Singh, has not disputed the aforesaid fact and submits that the petitioner has joined the investigation and is no more required for further investigation.

In view of the above, the present petition is allowed and the interim bail granted to the petitioner vide order dated 06.02.2025 is made absolute subject to the conditions envisaged under Section 438(2) of Cr.P.C./482(2) of BNSS, 2023.
