This application has been filed by the wife to transfer the petition, bearing No.DMC/590/2020 (Guriqbal Singh vs. Simranpreet Kaur) filed under Section 9 of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, pending in the Court of learned Additional Principal Judge, Family Court, Bathinda, to the Court of competent jurisdiction at Sirsa.

The petitioner claims that the distance between Bathinda and Sirsa is more than 100 kms. and the respondent is already defending two litigations at Sirsa i.e. proceedings under Section 125 Cr.P.C. as well as

proceedings under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act,
