Status report by way of affidavit of Dr. Manpreet Shinhmar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Major Crime, Amritsar (Rural), has been filed by learned State counsel in Court today. The same is taken on record. Be tagged at the appropriate place.
Learned State counsel submits that the instant writ petition has rendered infructuous, in view of the statement of petitioner-Rupinder Kaur, recorded by the police to the effect that she had filed the present application for issuance of a writ in the nature of habeas corpus, under apprehension that her jeths, namely; Gurmeet Singh and Gurdev Singh would be arrested/implicated in some false case, whereas as per status report, no FIR has been registered against them, nor they are required in any other case.
In view of the above, the instant criminal writ petition is dismissed.
