Petitioners claim that they have attained majority and married against the wishes of their family members. Apprehending threat to their life and liberty, they have filed the present petition for protection. They claim to have submitted a representation (Annexure P-5) dated 29.11.2019 in this regard to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Gurdaspur.

The petitioners have placed on record copies of their Aadhar Cards (Annexures P-1 and P-2) and a copy of certificate as Annexure P-4 as well as four photographs on two sheets as Annexure P3 regarding performance of marriage.
This petition is disposed of with a direction to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Gurdaspur, to look into the representation Annexure P-5 dated 29.11.2019 and ensure that no harm is caused to the petitioners. However, it is made clear that this order shall not be treated as stamp of the Court about the marriage of the parties and no opinion regarding the validity of the marriage has been expressed.
