Prayer in the instant petition under Section 438 Cr.P.C. has been made for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in case FIR No.53 dated 20.06.2017 under Sections 420, 465, 468, 471, 120-B IPC and Section 61/1/14 of the Punjab Excise Act, registered at Police Station Longowal, District Sangrur.

In nutshell, on secret information that accused Jagjit Singh @ Jagga, with the assistance of other persons, was selling illicit liquor without hologram on the bottles and without any permit or licence by pasting fictitious hologram, his house was raided. During investigation one Pankaj Kumar loader was arrested, who disclosed the name of the petitioner as an accomplice of the main accused Jagjit Singh.

Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that nothing has to be recovered from the petitioner and, therefore, his custodial interrogation is not required. In view of the totality of the facts and circumstances of the case and considering that the petitioner is also involved in selling illicit liquor, he does not deserve concession of anpticipatory bail.

Accordingly, the petition is dismissed.
