The petitioner is holding Bus Permit No.13/MBR/88 on Sangrur-Akberpur route, which is valid upto 13.6.2011. He moved an application for renewal of its permit on 23.2.2015, although it was required to be made 15 days prior to the expiry of Permit. Application was, thus, made late by 03 years and 01 month and the same was rejected on 17.3.2015 and the appeal filed against that order was also dismissed on 06.08.2015.

It is argued by learned counsel for the petitioner that the renewal application could not be filed earlier because the petitioner was suffering from some disease and in order to support his contention, he has referred to some prescriptions of Daya Nand Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana dated 21.10.2012.

I have heard learned counsel for the petitioner and perused the record. Though the Authorities, under the Act, while rejecting the application of the petitioner has categorically recorded a finding that the petitioner has failed to cite any plausible explanation for such a long delay and the argument of learned counsel for the petitioner by referring to the medical prescription dated 21.10.2012, is also of no avail to him because the Permit had expired on 13.6.2011 whereas the application for renewal was to be filed 15 days prior to the expiry of the Permit. There is no explanation in this regard and in the absence thereof, no interference is called for in this petition to set aside the impugned orders.
