Paramjit Singh and Another Vs State of Punjab

The allegations against the petitioners in this anticipatory bail are regarding theft of a single sheesham tree for which they have been prosecuted under sections 32 and 33 of the Indian Forest Act and during the course of trial, the petitioners have failed to put in appearance on 3.11.2014 as they have noted the date as 30.1.2015 and that there is only single date default which is on account of inadvertent error and is bonafide one. Without going into the same and keeping in view the allegations against the petitioners and that sending them to custody would be travesty of justice, they are directed to put in appearance before the trial court and shall be admitted to bail on furnishing fresh bail bonds to the satisfaction of the trial court.
