Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in terms of the order of the DRT dated 19.9.2013 read with the order dated 3.2.2014, only three days’ time was granted to deposit the sum of 10 lacs. He submits that he had already deposited a sum of 2 lacs prior to this direction and will deposit a sum of 4 lacs today itself with leave to deposit the balance 6 lacs before the end of the month.
The impugned order is actually appealable before the DRAT, but in the peculiar facts of the case where the petitioner is seeking only a limited extension of time, we accede to the request subject to the condition that no further proceedings will be entertained under the said Act for any extension of time beyond the period prayed for by the petitioner, i.e., 4 lacs to be deposited today and balance 6 lacs to be deposited on or before 28.2.2014.
The petition accordingly stands disposed of.
