Petitioners seek quashing of FIR No.114 dated 20.6.2007, under Sections 406 and 498-A and 323 IPC, Police Station, Sector 31, Chandigarh, registered at the instance of respondent No.2 alleging that she had been maltreated by petitioner No.1 and his family members. The parties have amicably resolved the dispute. The marriage has been dissolved on receipt of lump sum maintenance and costs of dowry articles. Statements of the parties have been recorded by the Judicial Magistrate 1st Class, Chandigarh.

(Crl.) 888 , I do not find any ground to refuse the compounding of offences in the present case. The petition is allowed and the FIR No.114 dated 20.6.2007, under Sections 406 and 498-A and 323 IPC, Police Station, Sector 31, Chandigarh, and all the criminal proceedings emanating therefrom, are quashed on the basis of compromise.
